Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 7313
Labels
Last modified: 2006-05-31 14:29:06 UTC
When using a spreedsheet as datasource in order to make Labels 3*8 on A4. I got Program error if trying to write more than one datafield on each label. The time was very long 30 sek, even with one field to generate the Labeldocument.
Jan, acn you please be more detailed what you are doing? The structure of your table document, the steps you do, the exact error you get? At the moment, your description isn't very helpfull, sorry :) Frank
My Tabledocument looks like this and is saved as .sxc Name,Lastname,street,zip,city,flat,amount,car1,garage1,car2,garage2,pa yto, accountnr, total. I have 48 persons (rows)in the table. I follow this steps: 1. rigtclick on quickstarter and choose From Template. 2. in Templates and documents I choose Labels. 3. In Lables I have set Format to- sheet, Brand=Avery A4,Type=J8159 Address. Now I select my database, table and fields. 4. Now it looks like this in the Inscription field: "<hyresg.Sheet1.0.Name><hyresg.Sheet1.0.Lastname>" and I click on New Document and wait. After about 35 seconds the program closed itself. If I only put in the Name and not Lastname on the same row in inscriptionfield, than it works and the new document comes after 30 sec which seams a long time. I have a Pentium3 450Mhz processor, 128MB ram. I have also tried to to put in 5 fields from the table and some times I had to cancel using ctrl-alt-delete and some times a white box came up with the text "Program error".
Jan, thanks for the description! Stefan, I strongly suspect that this is a Writer problem ... Can you reproduce this? Frank
Similar problem, same version (on XP): 1000 record table of 15 fields in svc file, AMD1500+ takes 25 seconds to create label with 8 fields. After creating a document with "New Document" on the File - New - Labels window, the NextRecord field at the end of the label has a corrupt Condition ("Postcode" for me - short name of the previous field?) if I change it to TRUE, close the field properties and reopen them. Condition has changed to "oyTRUE" (y umlout) Workaround is to create another next record field and delete that one. Could this be related to the slow/crashing printing reported? It seems to generate pages very slowly with the corrupt field, and would the print ever end? Peter
Thank you for using and supporting OOo. Does this problem still exist in OOo 1.0.3.1?
Or for that matter, does it still happen in OpenOffice 1.1 beta2?
I was not able to reproduce this problem with 1.0.3 or 1.1Beta2, but I did not follow the steps to reproduce exactly. So I am not sure what this might mean. 1. I opened an existing Labels-document (my business cards) 2. I deleted text and images contents and synchronized fields 3. I inserted some mail-merge-fields from my address book by menu "Insert-Fields-..." 4. I synchronized fields 5. I printed a mail-merge-letter with my 1000 records Everything worked fine Reporter(s), if this is still actual in 1.0.3 or later, can you pls. attach 2 documents (database and label-document) and a clear step by step instruction how to reproduce the problem? If I will not see any further action as votes, attachments or confirmations in this issue, I will have to close this issue 2003-08-31 as WFM. CU Rainer
Closing issue due to inactivity as DUP, because I do not want that inforation collected here will be lost. Please open a new issue if the problem still exists in the latest release of OOo, and also have a look to issue 7541, where similar problems are discussed.
