Description clytie 2006-12-15 11:10:09 UTC
Select some text > Format > Character > Fontworks

Choose :
Emphasis > Circles (above)
and
Effect > Small caps

In the Format Character dialogue, the circles display incorrectly above the text in small caps. There are
two rows of circles, instead of one, and they are not complete rows.

This only occurs in the dialogue: the effect is correct when applied to the document.

AFAIK this only occurs with this combination of effects. There are a lot of possible permutations.
However, it doesn't occur when any of the other Effect items are combined with Circle emphasis.

See the attached screenshot.

Note: on further testing, I find that ALL emphasis choices show this error when combined with small
caps.

clytie: good time to know what other compoents are there in IZ ;-))
Comment 4 michael.ruess 2006-12-15 13:53:04 UTC
Looks good on Windows and Solaris. Seems to be a problem of the Port.

Hi clythie, *,
could you check this with a newer version of OOo? I can not reproduce this
issue, as I have no Vietnamese version installed here, sorry ... :( So my
comment is only a reminder to the people who are concerned ... ;)
Thomas.

Hello again Clytie, *,
you have not answered my question from last November until now ... :( Could you
be so kind to answer it? Or close this issue, if it does not occur any longer?
TIA
Thomas.

Sorry, Thomas, I was away over two long periods, and I evidently missed your other email when I
returned from the first absence last year. I just checked this feature in OpenOffice.org 3.0 (DEV300_m21)
Vietnamese, and the emphasis option doesn't seem to exist anymore. (I know this isn't the latest build,
but I haven't been able to download a later one yet.) Is Emphasis still available in builds for other
platforms/languages under Format > Character > Fontworks ?

I'll attach a screenshot of the Fontworks dialogue in DEV300_m21 Vietnamese. It lists (LHS) Underscore,
Strikethrough, Font Colour; (Centre, greyed out) Colour, Separate words; (RHS) Effect, Relief, Outline,
Shadow, Blink, Hidden. I don't know where Emphasis has gone.

Hello clytie, *,
as I still have not the possibility (as well as the knowledge to recognise any
errror seen) to test a newer Vietnamese version of OOo, if possible, please? Is
this issue fixed in the meantime or is it still valid? If it is fixed, it would
be nice, if you or someone else can close this issue ... ;)
TIA
Thomas.

Hello clythie, *,
sorry, forgot to answer your question last time ... :(
You are right. There is no entry for Fontworks any more. On my Germanophone
version of OOo 3.1.1RC2 under Debian SID AMD64 the option for emphases is on the
"Font Effect" tab (roughly translated ... I am not sure, how it is called in
English ... :( ). There it is in the middle row, just above the preview window.
As I cannot read Vietnamese, I am not sure, where it is in your build ... :( But
maybe you could try a newer build of OOo to see, if it is there again ... ;)
Have fun
Thomas.

Hello clytie, *,
and - again - another reminder: Would you be so kind to test it again with
OOO320m17, please? Has anything changed in the meantime? If this issue fixed?
Would you be so kind to answer this message, please? After two unanswered
comments from August 2009, it would be really nice ... ;)
Thomas.
