Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 7247
soffice aborts when processing address list dialog
Last modified: 2003-03-11 18:00:58 UTC
When I started soffice for the first time, it brough up a dialog box asking where I wanted to import an address list from. I do not have any address list, so I clicked on "cancel". soffice thereupon aborted. I tried again, this time clicked on "Help". Result: soffice aborted. I tried again, this time clicking on "Next", though this is not really appropriate because I don't have an address list to import. It asked me which Mozilla/Netscape address list I wanted to import. Clicking on "Next" again made it abort again. Rerunning soffice eventually did bring up a different dialog - the registration dialog - so I suppose it was doing something useful during this mess. But most users probably would not have persevered to that point. I'm using the standard Debian Woody distro, installed from the Debian CDs released just after Woody became stable. I installed with the 2.4 kernel option. The multi-user install of OpenOffice.org using the install script seemed to work OK and so did the subsequent user-specific setup.
