perhaps save all user entered text in drop down boxes, save last selected 
option (like which cell mask in Calc)

remember every "customization" a user performs by eg. selecting a 
particular tick box in a property dialogue: have the focus be on this 
tick box when reopening the dialogue

Nope, this is similar to the AutoFocus features X boasted for a
loooong time. It is a fact that this annoys and confuses more users
than it helps. So it was removed from basically any WM in existence.
Thus we will not introduce such feature.
