Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 717
can't use 'rdiff' or 'diff' with OOO CVS
Last modified: 2003-12-06 14:52:34 UTC
I'm trying to make 'rdiff' of the 2 releases of OO CVS, but CVS fails to do it - it spits 2 screens of C code saying "assertion failed". This happens with CVS 1.10.3 and CVS 1.10.5 on various platforms (linuxes, BSDi). Exactly I'm doing (of course I'm logged in): cvs rdiff -r OpenOffice614 -r OpenOffice619 OpenOffice Others confirm the same problem with CVS client version 1.11.
Downgrading to a P3 since this is not a showstopper bug, nor is it holding up other people's work.

entered internally as issue pcn4505. This occurs on the anoncvs.openoffice.org server, but not openoffice.org. Investigating diferences in setup that may cause the assertion failure. Kat

We have a possible fix that ops is testing.
Okay, we've put in a fix. No assertion failure now if you use the long pathname included in the following example: [taska@localhost openofficetest]$ cvs -d :pserver:anoncvs@anoncvs.openoffice.org:/usr/local/anoncvs/repository rdiff -D "2 days ago" -D "1 day ago" oo/www/www/index.html Please reopen if you continue to have problems.
As agreed by Louis I will close these resolved fixed support-owned issues now. If you have trouble with that, please re-open the issue.
