Description kpalagin 2006-10-24 21:53:03 UTC
Please provide separate control to choose between stacked and side-by-side
slide arrangement in Impress handout view.
The is required because the ability to change from one to another via drag
and drop is not apparent and commonly needed feature remains hidden from user.

Maybe I do not quite understand: why do you need an additional control? You can
change the layout of the handouts by simply doing a single click on the template
in the task pane on the right.

wg,
choosing the _number_ of slides per page is in fact easy and obvious. What is
not obvious is how you choose between horizontal or vertical arrangement in 2
or 3 slides per page mode.

On attached "handout-2slides.GIF" see that layout icon in the task pane shows
side-by-side arrangement, but print-preview on the left shows one on top of
the other (regardless of portrait (upper) or landscape (lower) page
orientation)

In order to arrange them side-by-side user can drag and drop slides, which is
very nice feature, but it is very well hidden. Thus my RFE to somehow expose
possibility to rearrange slides.

Should I reopen the issue or you will, if you see fit?
WBR,
K. Palagin.

Ok, thanks for the additional information. I will attach a screenshot.
A solution would be to load other layouts if the orientation is changed.
