if I close IE and reopen, I have to login again;

it will be more comfortable (for me) to have a permanent cookie.

Lars,
Some projects want this but many do not. I assure you many, many, many 
people on OOo would rather not have permanent cookies.
(I particularly am a little concerned about permanent cookies.) 
We have an 8-hour limit on the cookie. That should be enough.
Keep in mind that the homepage is staticized. This means that your cookie is 
not changing the web page. You must go to your start page, which you should 
bookmark.
