Following this few steps :
- create a new Presentation and add a Master page (you should have 2 master pages)
- don't assign the created master page
- create at least 2 slides
- export to Powerpoint
- open in PowerPoint XP : File is OK
- open in PowerPoint 97 : the content of the first slide has gone !

set target from 2.x to 3.x according to
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Target_3x
