Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 69508
WW8: drawing objects swerve each other instead of being on top of each other
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:17:32 UTC
The file "badfile.doc", which is available at the URL specified above, does not import properly. Several of the graphics are misplaced, and it looks like extra objects are inserted in the document. Note I was trying to import this into NeoOffice 2.0 Aqua Beta 3 Patch 1, which is based on the OOo 2.x code base, but I don't know the exact revision. The file does import correctly into Apple's Pages word processor, and it looks ok in MS Word.
Triantos, Could you please check the given URL? It does not seem to be reachable for me. Only temporary problem?
Sorry, don't know why the site was unreachable, it is working ok for me (just tested it).
Created attachment 39130 [details] File opens ok in MS Word and Apple's Pages, but not in NeoOffice
I have now also added it as an attachment, I didn't see how to do that when submitting the original report (which is why I instead posted it to the web)
Yeah, now the URL seems to work again. However, an attachment to the issue is much better.
I checked with "2.0.2 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)]" It seems that some images are imported incorrectly and so destroy the document view, pls. see 'screenshots.odp'! Document looks fine with "1.1.4 (German) WIN XP: [645m52 (Build 8824)]"
Created attachment 39148 [details] Screenshots comparing view in2.0.2, WORD, 1.1.4
MRU->OD: there are some drawing objects on the left of the paper which are positioned on top of each other. After import in OO, some of them seem to swerve the other objects and are placed more to the right. When deleting the objects on the left border, the "wrongly" positioned ones move to the place where they should be.
according to release status meeting -> 3.x
