Description jolatt 2006-09-10 09:10:54 UTC
1. A query of 'OE Contacts' created with the design mode makes problems, when the
used databasefieldnames have a dot in it (german version).
In the SQL-term of the query the part after the dot of the fieldname is missing.

2. The result of a query is empty.

In issue 45673 was a similar bug concerning the wizard, which is fixed. With
this fix this new bug was introduced.

OOo 2.0.4 RC1 German

Hi,

I can't reproduce this.

If I create a query f.e. with the field "Telefon (gesch.)" I can execute the
query whitout problems.

Do you have any more information?
Can you paste the sql string you use?

Bye Marc

Hi,

there two ways to select a datafield:
1: Double click in the window or drag & drop
2. Dropdown field
If you use the second way the part after the dot is missing.

I made a query using both ways to select a datafield. In the copied sql string
the second and third datafields are selected using the first way. The other are
selcted with the dropdown field.

SELECT "Telefon (gesch", "Stadt (gesch.)", "Telefon (gesch.)", "Bundesland
(gesch", "Telefon (gesch" FROM "OE Kontakte"

Please see also Ubuntu bug #131565, which indicates that this bug also affects
database names:

Comment 13 ocke.janssen 2007-09-19 13:47:50 UTC
I can not reproduce it. Could you please describe what you do different as to
select a field from the list box in the grid control. thanks.
Comment 14 christoph.lukasiak 2007-09-19 14:39:50 UTC
1. create a connection to an f.e. german (because of '.' in table field names)
win-adressbook
2. open query design & add the table
3. choose the table from the 'grid listbox'
4. choose any field (containing a '.') from the grid listbox
5. push the run query button

-> effect see attachement
Comment 15 christoph.lukasiak 2007-09-19 14:51:38 UTC

Comment 16 ocke.janssen 2007-09-20 07:41:58 UTC
Fixed.
The difference here is to select first the table name and then the column name.
