Description simonlaw 2006-08-18 20:10:01 UTC
From https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/49006

Pascal de Bruijn writes:

After copying several Mac OS X style .dfont files to my Ubuntu machine, the
fonts did show up in GNOME applications like AbiWord, but OpenOffice.org doesn't
seem to recognize them.

As far as I can descern .dfont files are a variation on normale TrueType fonts,
where a single font file contains multiple styles (Regular, Bold, Italic, ...).

The .ttf part of .dfont can be extracted using fondu. That's exactly the way we
use on Mac OS X for X11 version (native aleady uses ATS server, so all available
fonts)

Please have a look at : http://fondu.sourceforge.net/

I believe the initial reporter is looking for native .dfont support.
Comment 3 Olaf Felka 2006-08-21 07:52:21 UTC
Im not very familiar with font stuff. @hdu: Is this a defect (as initially
written) or more an enhancement?
Comment 4 hdu@apache.org 2006-08-21 08:46:39 UTC
reassigning
Comment 5 simonlaw 2006-08-21 11:50:27 UTC
Please don't slot this as a Macintosh only bug.
Comment 6 ralphie 2006-09-19 22:26:25 UTC
This is not a macintosh bug! This affects everything *but* Macintosh!
I think this would be highly desirable for people interchanging documents.
Comment 7 hdu@apache.org 2006-09-25 10:41:09 UTC
not a MAC specific bug...
Comment 8 Marcus 2017-05-20 11:31:01 UTC
Reset assigne to the default "issues@openoffice.apache.org".
