Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 6729
crash of OOo when I try to save a document as a user in WinXP
Last modified: 2003-09-08 16:56:16 UTC
When I try to save a document as a user (without installation rights) in Windows XP (Czech version) it always crashs. If I want to save a document I have to run OOo as a Administrator instead of a user. It happens for all parts of OOo (Writer, Calc ...). The same behavior is in version 1.0.0. It crashs when (as a user) I choose Edit - AutoText - choose a bussines card - insert => crash, too. There is a procedure I used for OOo installation. - logged on WinXP as a user - installed OOo as a Administrator (right mouse click - Run As ...) - run OOo as a user => error messafe about corrupted sversion.ini - to run OOo I have copied a sversion.ini from Admin account to User account - now I can run OOo as a user - run OOo as a user - save a document or Edit - AutoText - choose a business card - insert => crash Ota
Ota, thanks for posting this issue. You need to do a multi-user install of OOo for things to work properly. Copying the sversion.ini file will not work. The setup manual has instructions on how to install OOo on a multi- user platform: http://documentation.openoffice.org/setup_guide/index.html Thank you for using and supporting OOo.
As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved <wontfix/duplicate/worksforme/invalid> issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is unfortunately to set them to verified.
