Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 6706
printing high quality makes chart titles with "-" loose text after "-"
Last modified: 2003-04-01 12:35:19 UTC
it seems to always occur under the following circumstances: close all OOo apps. open a spreadsheet by double click on file Use "print" (not "print directly") and select the highest print quality. Charts within the current on screen displayed part "receive" this problem. It does not occur with other print quality options. It does not occur when the highest print quality option is already set for this document. It does not occur anymore when chart has been entered and exited after printing made the error occur, so that text reappears. It seems to be independant from the printer associated with the document in the document. It seems to be independant from the screen resolution. ! Perhaps set the standard printer print quality option to lowest (control panel->printers-><your printer>->...) before opening the document. It occurred on 2 inkjet printers: Lexmark Z32 and HP Deskjet 930C. Test document attached. http://www.openoffice.org/issues/showattachment.cgi? attach_id=2308&file=C:\Eigene Dateien\unzipped\Gamma-Spektroskopie.sxc System: both Win98 SE german; AMD CPUs, OOo german 1.0.0

no voting possible, hmm Is this the right component? Could everyone (yes; as it seems to be a bug on all Windows systems) try to reproduce it?
perhaps "reassignment issue" issue 7735 "occured"
pl->ssa: either a driver or chart "feature" ?
It seems that the application does not react on printer resolution changes during printing. I saw this behaviour in swriter a while ago and filed a bug to the writer team. But it seems, that other applications ignore those changes too.
The change that was done in Writer doesn't apply to Calc because we don't store the layout. Oliver, we've had similar problems with PDF export and with transparent objects, but I can't reproduce this one. Can you take a look?
Hi Bjoern, i can reproduce it. As discussed for you.
Can also be reproduces on Linux by changing the scale of a PostScript printer e.g. to 120%.
Created attachment 5042 [details] Set Printer Zoom to 100% (Xerox)
Hi Niklas, I have changed sch/source/ui/docshell.cxx such that the chart is re-rendered on printer change. However in this example, where the printer does not change, but its settings, I get no 'OnDocumentPrinterChanged()' call. Please change this (In Draw and Writer I get notified). To test, load the attached document. It should suffice to just go to the printer settings and change the zoom to 100% on the 'Advanced' dialogue. (If you don't have this, try changing the DPI). Note, that you may get a 'UserBreakpoint' in the debugger, while changing the printer in the m5s2. You can go on 'continue'.
Fixed in CWS calc05, will be in 1.1 Beta 2. Changed files in Calc: sc/source/ui/docshell/docsh3.cxx 1.15.4.1.14.1 sc/source/core/data/documen8.cxx 1.28.80.1
Reassigning to QA for verification.
Reset resolution to fixed
Verified in internal build calc05
found integrated on Linux, Windows and Solaris using srx644m8s1
