Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 67002
Writer freezes for several seconds when copying HTML contents
Last modified: 2007-04-20 20:39:17 UTC
I need to save a part of webpage. So I do this: I select the needed text, copy it to clipboard, open an empty Writer document, and paste into. OOo freezes. I have tryed to with OOo 1.1.4 -it freezes just for 2 seconds, then works well. This way I have been able to save the document for further analysis. You can download it, open in OOo 1.1.4, select all, copy, and then paste into OOo 2.0 Writer empty document. It freezes.
Created attachment 37491 [details] Example file. Try to paste it to OOo 2 Writer
The issue may be connected with the URL at the end of the document. However, the OOo shouldn't freeze by any means.
I checked with "2.0.2 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)]" and can not confirm any problem. @tuharsky: please contribute a clear and simple step by step instruction how to reproduce the problem. The instruction should contain any mouse click and any key press starting with "Start OOo .... "
Also WFM with "2.0.3RC5 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9036)]"
It is enough to just open the file in OOo. I tryed it now again and see, that freeze durates for some five seconds (recently it must have been more however). In my opinion, shouldn't freeze either. During the freeze, OOo dosen't obey any commands, one cannot access menu items, simply nothing goes on and OOo dosen't state any "work in progress". CPU usage is near to nothing, so I assume it's just sortof silly timeout.
It is the well-known problem when having the wrong proxy settings and OO tries to acces sources from http origin. Framework problem.
Seems to be dup of http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=7553. Resolving as such. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 7553 ***
