Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 66342
calc : encoding problem when importing data from another document
Last modified: 2006-06-26 13:58:29 UTC
Hi, Please open the second document, then adjust the first document's path in C-5 cell's value. The C-5 cell should display Théo, not Théo. My system is in utf8, OOo 2.0.2-r2 build from gentoo with gcc-4.1.1.

I see the problem in your sample document 'second.ods', I read "Théo" before the contents of the cell will be updated from 'first.ods'. But: I checked with "2.0.3RC5 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9036)]" andcan not reproduce the problem with my own files. I adapted the dde links to my file system and got correct "Théo" in 'second.ods', and if I move both files to another folder on my harddisk, I will also see "Théo" (as expected), before impossible update from 'first.ods'. Only Linux Problem? @netfab: How did you get that "Théo"? It seems your OOo isn't from an original OOo source? Can you please tell us your results if you "paste special" the 'first.ods' cell contents as DDE to a writer document?
Yes,apparently this is just a linux issue : some guys tells me that they have exactly the same problem with Fedora Core 5, but with Windows it works fine. > How did you get that "Théo"? Copy cell from first document, and then "special paste" in the second. I built OOo from sources : gentoo's principle. > Can you please tell us your results if you "paste special" > the 'first.ods' cell contents as DDE to a writer document? Exactly same issue : Théo Thanks.
