Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 66122
WW8: numbered paragraph is displayed in wrong level and "start with" number
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:17:32 UTC
There are a couple of problems with our company documentation template not displaying correctly in OpenOffice, which I hoped someone may be able to help with. I have witnessed these at home using Linux too I believe. I will attach a copy of the template for your perusal. You will hopefully see the issues in the following areas as I do: 1. Appendix section headings disappear (see pages 13 - 17). For some reason this also affects the indenting, so that text appears further indented than it should be. 2. Author fields on page 1 does not refresh correctly to take author information. 3. Footnotes on page 10 display the line above them incorrectly (this appears indented in Word.) 4. Macros do not function. I appreciate that macros are not fully supported, so I wouldn't expect these to work correctly, but I am a little confused by the disapperaring headings. Any ideas? Please let me know if you need any more information on this. I'm willing to change the template if there are unsupported features in it which don't work properly in OOo.
Created attachment 36934 [details] Document template to demonstrate issues.
ad 1) this s a bug and will be handled in this issue. ad 2) the attached file is a WOrd template. OO writer treats a template as if you want to create a new document from it when opening via FileOpen dialog. Thus, the "new" Author will be inserted there. ad 3) formatting the footnote seperator line with absolute metric values (like here via paragraph indents) is curerently not supported in OO Writer. If this is really desired, please file an enhancement issue for this. ad 4) the VBA "dialects" used in OO and MS Office are quite differently, thus they cannot be translated.
MRU->OD: See attached document, page 14. The paragraph "Document Versioning" is displayed in num level 10 instead of level 1. Also it starts with wrong number, because the converted list style "WW8num81" is erroneously used on page 8 in the "Appendix Heading X" paragraphs at the top of the page.
adjust target milestone to 2.x
according to release status meeting -> 3.x
Any chance to target this issue for 3.2? Thanks&WBR, KP.
