I recently installed OpenOffice.org 1.00 as a complete replacement for MS 
Office.

It seems to me that it takes an inordinately long period of time for OO to 
open up any file, but specifically spreadsheets.  It is not uncommon for 10+ 
second to go by from the time I select a spreadsheet to the time it is 
actually loaded and ready to edit.

My system is a 266 P2 with 192mb RAM running Win98 SE.

Any suggestions?

sorry, this is a bug tracker a not the FAQ. Join e.g.
openoffice.discuss to find out about the benefit of XML and
Multi-Platform support. Just two of the reasons that make OOo slower. ;-)
