Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 6595
Use watermarks as page backround
Last modified: 2013-02-07 22:42:26 UTC
In the graphics mode list box, a graphic can be defined as type "Watermark", after which it becomes almost transparent. When selecting a graphic as Page Background it would be good if a similar option was available.
Reassigned to Bettina.
Please try using the latest OpenOffice 1.1 Final , you can download it from www.openoffice.org many bug fixes and enhancements since your version and 1.1 Final . If the problem still happend in 1.1 please report back It maybe not yet solve your Issue, but it worth to try.
OOo 1.1.0 doesn't do it yet. Confirmed.
In OOo 1.1.0, in the image properties, when selecting the image aligment undernith the text, a checkbox is avalible to set it as a background. If the image is already set as a watermark, the result sounds like the same thing that you are looking for. I am attaching an example document- is that what you are after? (Note- there seem to be some issues when attempted to select the text with the mouse- the graphic gets selected instead)
Created attachment 14906 [details] example doc- watermark as page background
Created attachment 14907 [details] Updated doc- watermark on full page
btw, the selecting problem with a watermark is reported in issue #28595
Thanks for the suggestion, but this isn't really what I meant. Watermarks are automatically included on each page of a document. In the example you provided the image is fixed on page 1.
To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements".
