Description ggonter 2006-05-19 02:21:50 UTC
Environment: OpenOffice 2.0.2 and before 2.0.1, database connection to
postgresql using sdbc driver

After a crash and the subsequent recovery, I lost (once again) all entries in
<db:forms> section of the database's content.xml file. I managed to reconstruct
that part by hand from backup, but since this is happening too often to be
ignored, I wonder, how that problem can be avoided.

clu->ggonter: crashes should not appear and if they do and are reproducable,
please write an issue for that - for your problem (that seems to be a result of
the crash) please add a step by step description to reproduce your problem - if
it is not fully reproducable, please try to install the office new (if anything
is unreproducable broken)

thx

I can confirm this.

If you don't save the form before a crash you lost it. It doesn't recover.

If you save the form before a crash then after the recovery you get an unknown
file as described in Issue 65597

After such a crash, which I try to trace more carefully next time, the
content.xml file loses it's references to forms that were saved before. I'm not
surprised that new forms are lost if the crash happens while creating them, but
also the previously saved forms are no longer listed and thus unvailable.
However, the form objects themselves remain in the .odb file, so editing the
contents.xml file brings the forms back.
