Description gimpy 2006-05-13 19:37:52 UTC
Forms created from linked data, such as a spreadsheet, are read-only in Base.
Would like a way to enter new data in forms to these linked sources. Going one
step further, and a better solution, would be a true data import function in
Base where a new database, independant of the source file, can be created with
imported data from a spreadsheet or a tab-delimited text file.

Hi,

There is no primary key and so you can't edit.

You can copy the table from the Base file to a new file based on the internal
HSQL. If you add a primary key you can enter new datas.

Set it to feature

thx mechtilde

reopen issue to send as feature enhancement to the requirements team

the 'read only state' constraint of some data sources is annoying (specially if
it is a native calc spreadsheet) - even if you can 'workaround' this like
mechtilde has written, this should not be the final solution, so hopefully this
will be improved, but the decision belongs to the requirements team

thx

I think we can set it to New
