Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 64857
Exported to Word file crashes Word
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:19:35 UTC
The file in the attachment when saved to Word 97/2000/XP and then opened in Word XP will crash Word. The text from this file probably originated from a conversion from Word to Openoffice. If you look carefully using Word there seems to be something wrong with the last row of the table - there seems to be a paragraph mark rather than an end of cell mark.
Created attachment 36118 [details] test odt data file and exported doc file
MRU->FLR: when exporting the attached odt to WW8 format and opening in MS Word, MSW will crash.
Due to missing resources retargetted to "OOo Later"
Created attachment 37610 [details] .doc file text only modified in OO & Crashes Word 2000
The .doc file I've uploaded has a small amount of text in it, just: "My simplest file". I created it in Word 2000 (SP3, build 9.0.6926), opened it in 00 2.0.3. I added a single space (hit space bar once), saved it without renaming. Closed OO. Opened Word 2000, opened this file into Word 2000. I added another space (hit space bar once). Then hit save. During save, Word 2000 crashes and asks if I want to send crash info to Microsoft. This happens every time that I save a .doc in OO (whether created first in Word 2000 or not), then attempt to modify the document in Word and save it.

I am using Windos XP Machine with Oo 2.0.2 and the bug is reproducible in my case.
