Description owqcd 2006-04-04 15:40:15 UTC
Hello,

I wrote in the issue n°63838 that the insertion of postscript files is very slow
in OpenOffice 2.0.2

Many of my files, created with OpenOffice 1.x, have several ".eps" pictures
inserted. Now that OpenOffice renders postscript images, they are all very slow
to open...

Is there a way to temporarily disable the postscript rendering and go back to
the behaviour of the former versions of OpenOffice ?

This would speed up the loading of documents with many postscript pictures.

After more than six years, using EPS files in OO is still a total pain.
The most widely used vector graphic formats are EPS and PDF.
It's a pitty that they can't be included efficiently in OO.

If OO was about quality, it would make it easier to use vector graphics. Using raster graphics is a poor man's workaround.
