Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 63915
Formatting/Naming of sheet tabs
Last modified: 2006-04-03 17:09:49 UTC
In Excel, sheet tabs are not restricted to letters and (_) underscores. I frequently name tabs with (.) periods and (-) dashes but get an error in Calc. Also, the ability to shade tabs is an extremely useful tool, which seems to be unavailable in Calc.
Special characters in sheet names are handled in issue 6087. What do you mean with "shade a tab"?
Similar to "background color" for formatting cells, in Excel you can also assign colors to the sheet tabs themselves. For me, it's a handy tool to prioritize workbooks that have a greater number of worksheets (red=critical; black=finished; yellow=waiting on someone else; etc.). I'm new to this system, but I'm going to attempt a screenshot of an Excel workbook for you to see.
I see. That's an old wish. You find it in issue 5560. Perhaps you like to vote on it? Your issue describes two problems. Such issues cannot be handled properly. Please file an separate issue for each problem next time. You can attach a file, if you follow the link "Create a new attachment" on this page, but it is not necessary anymore. If you file a new issue, you can attach something immeadiately after filing the issue. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 5560 ***
