I write some text with helvetica font and double quota characters, and the 
processor fit the blanc characters where it wants, not where I want.

In the screen for example, the text typed is 
   de "opciones personales", pulsar el botón "autocompletar".
not
   de  "opciones personales" ,pulsar el botón  "autocompletar" .

And too, I typed:
   Quitar la marca a "formularios", y "nombre de usuario y password".
and not:
   Quitar la marca a  "formularios" ,y  "nombre de usuario y password" .

as it looks.

Eduardo, thanks for the screenshot and solid instructions.

I was able to duplicate your issue.

In summary, a temporary workaround is to disable the custom ( also
known as the smart quotes ) quote feature of OO.

Here is the temporary workaround:

Go to:

Tools | AutoCorrect/AutoFormat

Select the "Custom Quotes" tab.

Uncheck the "Replace" option for both single and double quotes.


Duplicated issue on RedHat 7.3 stock workstation install, OO 1.0, Gnome.

Also noticed that there are display update issues when smart double
quotes are enabled and the spacing issues with the text inside the quotes.

doublequote.png -> Note the double space in front of the ", and the
                   position of the cursor.

doublequotefix.png -> The first line demonstrates the spacing and
                      refresh issue when the smart replacement is
                      enabled.

                      The rest of the document has smart double quote
                      replacement disabled.

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate
