Description Unknown 2002-06-21 21:38:54 UTC
P4, 1.4 GHz Gateway, 256 Mb RAM, ATI Rage Fury Pro 16 Mb, on Windows 2000 with
SP1 installed. When inserting #D object onto page, display goes crazy. Partial
duplication of object, or complete destruction of Writer display, Windows
desktop visible in background. Minimizing and then maximizing Writer window
corrects problem momentarily, but problem immediately reappears as soon as any
other action (typing, etc) is taken. Minimizing only possible if minimize
button is visible. Removing 3D object does not solve problem. Problem also
appears with other vector graphics illustrations such as wmf files containing
gradient fills created in Corel Draw.

(Parag Mujumdar , 09/11/02) Hello Nick ,
I am sorry , but I could not completely replicate the bug
you mentioned. I have some doubts which I like to put
forward :

1.	Is this problem specific to the configuration you
mentioned? I am using PIII with windows 2000 .
2.	On which document you are inserting that 3D object?
3.	I will appreciate if you can give me the
description in numbered steps with more detail.

The failure , which I came across is not exact as
mentioned in report. Here is the sequence of things I
did : A) I made 3D object using open office Drawing
document. B)I copied that object .and pasted in other
blank drawing page. This did not result in any failure. C)I
tried pasting same 3D object in text document. D)It gave
me failure , in a form that the size of the original 3D
object got double when I inserted in text document. Other
than this I did not see any abnormality. E) Unfortunately ,
I could not try inserting corel draw or .wmf files , as I
do not have access to those software. It would have been
helpful , if you can include screenshot file.
Thank you.

Bug replicated on a Pentium - 4 , 1.7 GHz , 256 MB RAM running
Windows XP Professional version 2002.

I inserted the 3D object using the gallery button on the Function
bar.

Thank you everyone for your comments.

Can someone please list step by step instructions to consistently
reproduce the issue?

Unable to duplicate on Win NT 4.0 SP6a, OOo 1.0.1.

1. Start Writer
2. Click on the Gallery icon on the Function toolbar
3. Choose the first blue doughnut 3D object.
4.  Right click then Insert->Copy

OOo is working fine for me.
