Description jbarcal 2006-01-06 08:34:33 UTC
When open in OOo XLS file created in MS Excel and re-saved in OOo in Excel
format, numbers (currency) are displayed as divided by 100. E.g. the number
1,23 is displayed as 0,0123. See the sample in file which can be downloaded
from http://www.klimak.cz/download/051021_OpenOfficeError.zip.
File 'Source_Excel.xls' is a new file created in Excel, the
file 'Target_OpenOffice.xls' is created in Excel and saved in OOo.

I was not able to confirm. After downloading the zip package containing the
"source" and "target" spreadsheets, I saved the "source" on my machine (Windows
XP and OOo 2.0.1) but the numbers format was not altered. Although I see that
the "target" file from the user has the altered number format, I couldn't reproduce.

I was unable to reproduce it on:

Windows XP SP2 - OOo 2.0.1

Steps:

1. Downloaded the file 051021_OpenOfficeError.zip
2. Extracted the file "source" and "target"
3. Opened it with OOo 2.0.1
4. Saved as "Microsoft Excel 97/2000/xp (.xls)" type
5. Opened with Microsoft Excel 2003 and observed that the numbers format were
not changed
6. Opened with OOo 2.0.1 and the values were again unaffected.

I repeated the test for 3 times, and I couldn't reproduce the values of the file
"target".

On Further Testing I did:

1. Opened file "source" with OOo 2.0.1
2. Saved the as "source2.ods" and closed OOo
3. Opened the file "source2.ods" with OOo and saved it "source3.xls"
4. Opened "source3.xls" with Excel 2003 and noticed some changed in the sizes of
the cells; however the numbers format were once again unaffected.

The problem still remains. I've just downloaded and installed the newest
version (2.0.1 cs). I guess the only difference can be that I have czech
locales on my operating system. I don't have any other idea.

In the case you don't reproduce this problem, transfer the issue to czech
developers, if you can.

I made a screenshot to show you how looks the file saved in OOo. Look at it:

Thanks
