I imported an existing Excel spreadsheet and modified it.  After some time,
every attempt to open the ".sxc" file causes an "Unrecoverable Error."

I have encountered the same problem.  However my file was created 
from scratch; and beyond just the unrecoverable error, the file is 
completely removed from the system (it's not even in recycle bin).  
This has happened multiple times.  The ModName in the 
soffice.exe "more information" box is sot641mi.dll, ModVer 
6.0.7663.500.  Hope that helps.  I will try version 1.0.1, but if 
this hasn't been explicitly addressed, it may still be a problem. Ken

I was unable to reproduce this on Linux with
either OpenOffice1.0.2 or OpenOffice1.1beta.

Please try again with OpenOffice1.1beta, and
if it's still failing, submit a new issue,
and again attach the file that caused the problem.  Thanks!
