Description zomb3 2005-12-16 14:36:38 UTC
Applies to Windows XP SP2 and OOo 2.0.1, OOo 1.9.122 and OOo 1.1.4. Application
and documents involved are stored on the local hard drive and accessability is
in no way not poor or limited.

Error message "Error saving the document yadayada: General error. General
input/output error" after saving a document which was previously recovered using
the Document Recovering Tool.

Reproducabiliy: 50/50. Sometimes it saves okay, sometimes the description below
applies.

After clicking OK, practically all functions in the current editor, including
Exit, are disabled. Menu functions are gray. Hotkeys including Ctrl+C don't not
work. Keys to navigate the document don't work. The only things left working
are: Typing text and the enter key, the File/New submenu to creare new
documents, the Alt key to activate the menu bar, and mouse navigation.

can you attach a document with which to reproduce the problem? thanks
Comment 2 zomb3 2005-12-17 00:46:05 UTC
Attachment was asked. I experimented and discovered it is not needed.

Exact reproduction instructions:

Edit a loaded document and wait for OOo to save AutoRecovery information
(default 15 minutes). There should be a property entry in Recovery.xcu looking
like this:
   <prop oor:name="TempURL" oor:type="xs:string">

<value>file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Administrator/Application%20Data/OpenOffice.org2/user/backup/verbs.xls_8.ods</value>
   </prop>

Now, kill the soffice process, and run the recovery tool. Change the document
and try to save it.

Comment 3 lars 2005-12-17 12:12:05 UTC
cannot reproduce: OOo 2.0.1 RC5 saves the document without errors after
recovery

Not reproducible in a m146 (8991) build on WinXP !
