Description Unknown 2002-06-17 22:29:00 UTC
First installation: went without a hitch, but when i try to open any menu OO crashes brining my KDE and X with it. Using Writer without the menus seems to work but every time I tried to use a menu X crashes.

My system:Linux version 2.2.16-3smp (root@porky.devel.redhat.com) (gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)) #1 SMP Mon Jun 19 19:00:35 EDT 2000

I am previous user of StartOffice versions 5.0-5.2 and everything works fine there. OO is an utter disgrace to the opensoucre community! It just seems that the quality of open software keeps getting worse and worse!!!!!

I'm sorry to that you have so much frustration with OOo.

Does this problem still exist with OOo 1.0.1?

Do you have any error logs you can send us?

What type of install option did you use to install OOo?

If you didn't uninstall StarOffice or previous versions of OpenOffice,
I can see having a problem. If you have any thing left over from
those two, I would uninstall and delete them as well as the current
OpenOffice and try reinstalling OpenOffice.

Closing the issue for now.

User can reopen issue if the problem still exists with a newer build.
