Description zbyszko1982 2005-12-02 20:39:00 UTC
The formula DDE doesn't work correctly in new OOo 2.0
If this formula exists in spreadsheets, the Open Office doesn't open the another
spreadsheet. However, if the second spreadsheet is opened, formula DDE work
correctly and read from original file. Open Office 1.0.0 is without defected
formula DDE.
The next problem, I suppose, is connected with the first error.
If DDE read "big" array (e.g. 6 columns, about 5000 rows), this process takes a
long time (about 30 seconds). I have to wait only 2 - 3 seconds to read the same
"big" array in Open Office 1.0.0

Hi, can you attach sample files showing the error or can you give sample
syntax on how to reproduce the problem? thanks, Lars

received files from reporter:

I prepared spreadsheets containing formula DDE. Unzip this file into C:\
with full paths (e.g. in program 7-zip) This is necessary, because DDE uses
path with letter of disk and folder. All files should exist in folder:
C:\OO_test.

Open "start.sxc" in Open Office 2.0. Start.sxc contains two arrays of DDE.
This spreadsheet is linking to 01.sxc (spreadsheet protected by password:
password) and to 02.sxc (spreadsheet not protected by password). OO 2.0
doesn't open these two spreadsheets. (I permit the program to read data from
other spreadsheets) There is the error in the fields linking to 01.sxc - value
unavailable

However, Open Office 2.0 work correctly in this situation:
First open 01.sxc, next open 02.sxc.
In this moment open start.sxc, all links work correctly.

Please open start.sxc in Open Office 1.0.0. The program opens file "01.sxc"
automatically and asks for password. Next the program opens 02.sxc

I can confirm the described behaviour with OOo 2.0.1 RC2 on Windows XP Pro SP2

I cannot confirm the performance problems here, a seperate issue will be
needed (-> reporter...).

This is about DDE links to password-protected files.
The file for an internal DDE link (Calc or Writer) is loaded from
SvxInternalLink::Connect, using SfxObjectShell::CreateAndLoadObject. If anything
is supposed to be changed (has there ever been a specification about the
interaction handler stuff?), it should be there.

I have new information that can help. This problem was present in OO 3.0 and
elder, it doesn't exist in Open Office 3.1 and is present again in OO 3.2
