Description janssege 2005-12-02 11:21:19 UTC
When trying to convert my documents from Ms Word to OOo Writer, I noticed that
in some cases the non braking spaces are not recognized.
The files are created with Ms Office 2000 on Windows 2000.
I'll attach a small example document to illustrate the issue.

Additional info:
I tested this with OpenOffice.org 2.0 on Windows 2000 and OpenOffice.org 2.0.0.1
on SuSE 10.0.

I'll gladly provide you with more information should you require it.

invalid.

The document doesn't contain non-breaking spaces, but en-spaces (U+2002) these
are imported correctly into OOo.

OOo doesn't mark these typographic spaces the same way as it highlights
non-breaking spaces. That's all.

If you want OOo to highlight the en-space as well, feel free to write an
enhancement request in a new issue.

closing issue.

No import-error thus no issue → invalid. Only a different representation of the
characters when editing the document.
