Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 58071
Very slow display of tables
Last modified: 2013-08-07 14:42:26 UTC
I have a document which consists of about 45 pages of a single table with 4 cells to a page (2x2). When I add enough cells to go to a new page, and OO Writer loses focus (because I have moved to another app to copy text from it), when it regains focus there is a freeze of more than 2 minutes with the processor running at 100% before OO Writer responds again. I'm sure this didn't happen in Version 1.1, and it's a right royal pain. It looks like a bug to me. I'm new to the OO community, so I hope I've subnmmitted this correctly. I can't find any way to attach the document (only 45KB) to see if it can be reproduced.

I have now found how to attach! Only after making my original comment, though. Sorry. To observe the defect, open the document, scroll to the end. Tpye enough TABs to go to a new page. Open another app. Bring OO Writer back into focus. Wait. Make coffee. Drink coffee....
MRU->FME: I do not know if this is a rel Loop or if it just needs a (very) long time to be formatted... but at least the document is quite unusable for the submitter. I tried to open it on my 1,5 GHz Notebook and Writer did not respond for more than 5 minutes after it displayed the first page. Then I killed OO...
MRU->FME: it looks like a performance problem. With the next try I was a little more patient and it was possible to work on the document. But than when I tried to add cells as described, the same happened again.
FME: This one basically has the same root cause like issue 55421. Setting to 'duplicate'. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 55421 ***
