Description spook2 2005-11-10 17:34:45 UTC
The document created in MS Word 2003 and saved as RTF. Opened in OO 2.0,
corrected for wrong formatting and saved as RTF / MS Word . Upon opening of the
document in OO 2.0 formatting is lost.

At first glance, I cannot see, where the problem is... Could please explain a
bit more precise, what kind of formatting is lost on import of the RTF file.
"Lost formatting" can be everything (page formatting, character formatting,
paragraph formattig...)
Feel free to reopen issue when you have done. Thanks a lot!

BTW: a wrong formatting is -of course not a P1 issue, have a look at the issue
guidelines.
Comment 4 spook2 2005-11-13 00:02:09 UTC
The indent (set to 0”) is lost. In the new document it is a paragraph marked
“wrong_indent”. For me, the inability to save document as was formatted means
that the program is unusable, hence I initially classified it as P1.

MRU->FLR: export tje attached odt to RTF and reopen -> see the text in table
cell B2 has a first line indent of -0,64 cm. It looks, that the fact that the
paragraphs are from a numbering sequence, where the numbering s have been
removed manually, confuses the filter.

I can confirm that this ODT to RTF conversion problem is still in OO 2.0.4 RC 2.

I attach here more specific test document.

1. Open ODT "ODT_formatted.odt" in 2.0.4 RC 2.
- check lines marked as A.1-A.7 and their indent position
- check lines marked as B.1-B.4 and their indent position
2. Save the file as "RTF_formatted.rtf" in 2.0.4 RC 2.
3. close the file as "RTF_formatted.rtf" in 2.0.4 RC 2.

4.a. Open "RTF_formatted.rtf" in Word 2002.
OR
4.b. Open "RTF_formatted.rtf" in 2.0.4 RC 2.

Check lines A.1-A.7 and B.1-B.4.
Lines A.4, A.5, A.6 and A.7 have lost their indent totally.
Lines B.1-B.4 have lost their indent totally.
Also some lines surrounding lines B1-B4 have lost their indent.

Other lines (A.1-A.3) and the rest of the document is formatted correctly.

Strange behaviour - definetely due to OO 2.0.4 RC 2.

To be precise what I used:
- WIN XP Pro v. 2002 SP 2 (English version)
- OpenOffice 2.0.4 RC 2
- Word 2002 (10.6802.6735) SP 3 (English version)
