Please do not make this a prototype requirement.

UNO is far from being secure and using it in a peer to peer environment will
bring us in great danger of risking user's personal data integrity and security.

What I would presume is that we should go for the JavaSpaces approach when
considering distributed environments.

However, this should definitely not be a part of the prototype, rather a feature
of say version 3 of the software, as soon as it gains more speed.
