reassigning to support...
St I would like to have more information on this. Could you please let me know the mailing list and the project where this is happening. Is this happening for all projects site wide? Regards Karthik-Helpdesk
afaik, mail lists include issues@, which is perhaps why support had not responded earlier: no notice. Other lists are, afaik, all. No new mail on discuss@openoffice.org, for instance since 04:15 (-0500) Louis
Updating status whiteboard. Regards Karthik-Helpdesk
Engineers are working on the issue and I would update you as soon as possible. Regards Karthik-helpdesk
Engineers found several write lock files and they were all more than a few days old.The lock files were removed manually. The mailing list is fine now, please verify the same. Regards Karthik-Helpdesk
Adding self, as still no mail.
back to support. No mail for 20 hours!
add Martin and Stefan to CC.
louis too.
No mail by now and problems with the cvs too, as mentioned in issue 57491.
support: as mail doesn't work, you can't reassign this issue to e.g. louis, because if your fix was wrong/not enough, he won't receive any notification. Got it? Please reassign for verification *after* you receive this comment as mail. OK?
still no mails from OOo...
24 hours without mail... PANIC?
Martin, As discussed with you over the phone, I have updated the engineers that the mails are still not showing up. The engineers are working on this issue. I'll get back to as soon as I get any updates from them. Thanks, Karishma-Helpdesk
Mails have started showing up. The queued mails are now getting delivered. The mail lists should be back to normal in some time. Thanks, Karishma-Helpdesk
confirmed. I have received many e-mails now. So: what was the problem? How it will be prevented for the future? What to do to get you notified sooner?
> What to do to get you notified sooner? Ping Louis and/or Martin and/or me via IRC or direct email. Greetings, Stefan
I had a chat with louis_to before I went to bed -> he was notified.
... and in the morning after I wake up, I have sent SMS to mh... But it was still not enough and it took 29 hours to get it fixed.
Further updates (post-mortem) on this issue. The mails were initlaly stuck due to the write-lock files. After that was removed and the indexer re-started, apparently the mails were supposed to flow. It appears that the mail server was then stuck because of the build-up/queue of the large number of mails. This caused non-delivery. Re-starting this resolved the issue. I will confirm with the operations team if the mails started to flow after the indexer re- start.
Feel free to mark issues as RESOLVED/FIXED if you consider a problem solved. We will verify and close or reopen appropriately. But please don't lower the priority of issues to indicate that "only" the post-mortem investigation is left to be done. We will be happy to read your comments on resolved issues.
verified and closing...
