When I use the Backspace key the screen updates at about 1 deleted character per
second. Editing becomes extremely hard this way.

I checked with “2.0 German version WIN XP: [680m3(Build8968)]” and can't con
firm that as a general problem.
@ooisgood:
Can you attach a document showing that problem?

Pls. contribute some information concerning your platform (Processor, speed,
RAM, graphics adaptor, ...)

Do you really only see that in WRITER, in CALC and DRAW BACKSPACE works with
normal speed?
