Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 56811
writer: incorrect indentation in outline headings
Last modified: 2005-10-27 21:37:06 UTC
This issue relates to documents with "outline" format. This format is created with the following procedure: Bring down the Format menu Click "Bullets and Numbering..." Click the "outline" tab Select any format This makes available formats named "Heading 1", "Heading 2", etc. In Microsoft Word, the number on this heading line (which is auto-generated) aligns with the "First line indent" marker, but the text aligns with the "hanging indent" marker. In Openoffice 2.0 (as well as 1.1.5), The number aligns with the "first line indent" marker, but the text as always a fixed offset from the number. The "hanging indent" marker has no effect on it. This causes a document created with Microsoft Word to be formatted differently in Openoffice.
Created attachment 30930 [details] document with "Heading 1" and "Heading 2" lines
Currently OO Writer is not able to process a tab character in a numbering in a way MS Word does. This will be implemented for the next version. See spec http://specs.openoffice.org/writer/numbering/NumberingBullet2.sxw and issue 31372. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 31372 ***
