'Genegal input/output error' while opening any MS Word 2003 XML files crated 
by me. The files remains locked.
I would like to post example file but don't know how.

please send the example to my mailadress or attach it on this issue here.

look below the "keywords" field and you will find a link "Create a new attachment" 
choose your file and give it an description. choose file type xml and send it.

on linux, an attempt to open this file results in a crash.

Message on console:
 terminate called after throwing an instance of
'com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException'
