Description p3ptools 2005-10-24 19:19:28 UTC
On attempting to setup a new database ( which is registered ) using Base on
Windows XP professional ( Java Runtime 1.3.1_02 & also using 1.5 ) the following
error occurs when attempting to select the tables pane.

Alert box is displayed : ( Where dbndb is the name of my database )

The connection to the data source dbndb could not be established.

/java/sql/Savepoint

Error Code -1

I have encountered this twice now both on Windows XP Profesional machines.

Installing Open Office 2.0 on Windows 2000 Advanced Server Base worked ok.

Hi,

have you set the CLASSPATH to your driver under / TOOLS / OPTIONS /.. / JAVA?

Hello,

I set my classpath to this folder

C:\Program Files\OpenOffice.org 2.0\program\classes

but the same error re-occurs.

Hello,
I re-downloaded the latest JRE, altered the options.

And OO Database now functions :-)

Perhaps the message

The connection to the data source dbndb could not be established.

/java/sql/Savepoint

could be amended to mention checking JRE/JDK versions if OO detects a
class has failed to load.

Many Thanks

Stephen

Hi,

I close this issue now as WORKSFORME, because the reporter reports that
everything is OK with the new JRE.

Bye Marc
