Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 56459
WW8: Roman numbering imported with wrong font in char tsyle
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:15:34 UTC
I have a .doc file, created on Windows XP (not sure about the version of Word) in which the formatting doesn't import correctly. I read the recent interview with Florian on Mad Penguin, and he said to submit documents that don't import correctly. In the interview he said to choose the WW8 category, but I don't see that. And this form has no place for me to attach my file. Please advise. Petre Scheie

Created attachment 30869 [details] MS Word doc, OOo does not preserve format correctly
MRU->pscheie: for the future, please specify the place in the document where the error occurs, so that we need not waste too much time for finding the problem in a multi page document.
MRU->FLR: I will attach a shorter version of the document which shows the problem. The Roman numbering is imported with a wrong fornt. You need to set the Font for the character style "WW8Num2z0" from "Symbnol" to "Arial".
Made summary a bit more significant

Sorry I forgot to post the description of the problem. I wasn't able to get into the forum the other day, so I sent the document and an explanation of the problem directly to mru. Then I tried the forum the next day and did get logged in, so I updated the issue but forgot to include the description of the problem. It looks like you found the root of the problem. The manifestation that I noticed was that pages 4 & 5 in OOo appear as just page 4 in Word; and then OOo also shows all that blank space on page 5. Also, the diagram that is on page 8 is supposed to be on page 7, but I suspect that is caused by the problem on page 4.

Based on my experience earlier today, this issue seems to have crept up again with the docx documents. I opened a MS Word document in OO that I created and saved in MS Word 2008 for Mac as a docx file. Saving the file as a .doc file within MS Word, the numbered list converted just fine. I will try to upload an example (the text is in Verdana 10 and the bullets convert to Cambria 12).
Created attachment 61376 [details] I just realized that this issue is about Roman numbering; my problem is with a numbered list (arabic numbers?). Based on my experience earlier today, this issue seems to have crept up again with the docx documents. I opened a MS Word document in OO that
