General error at saving of file

At saving of this file, I get the "general error" "general input/output error". Program aborts when trying to show masterpicture of slides. The file was produced and saved with the same computer and program where the fault was first discovered.

Observation: Pragram aborts when the slide "Tree" selected. It contains a placeholder for a picture. Correction to previous information: Some of the editing, including the insertion of this slide, was done on a Linux version. The fault was first discovered after opening on a Windows platform, but is present on all platforms.
I can confirrm the problem with 1.0.3 german version WIN98SE Status should be NEW (I haev no rights to change status) Target milestone should be 1.1 IMHO a crash should have higher priority than P4
Today I tried again with 1.1beta2 WIN98SE, but I was not able to save the file, because I was asked to enter an unknown password. Rainer
I tried this on 1.1Beta2 on XP. I had no problems saving or viewing the slide show, including the Tree slide, on this version of OOo.
Today I tested without password-problem with 1.1beta2 WIN98SE. No Problem, no crash when I performend the complete show, but 0. click "slide view" 1. Doubleclick slide "The tree of life" in the word "tree" 2. Doubleclick into the word "add" of the slide (Message-Window "Insert OLE-object" appears, "OOo1.1 spreadsheet" "create new" are marked) 3. click OK 4. Crash, sometimes "silent", sometimes with "an unrecoverable error ...." I also tested to insert existing objects, always crash at 4! Rainer
I set status to NEW because crash is reproducable with 1.1beta2
Hey, Folks! The title says something about saving and within the second line of the initial description this one mutates to a crash. Thus the title (and the priority) don't match the current findings. Please stick to the (hopefully matching) title and write another issue if you have other findings. This is the only way it can work in issuezilla. Thanks for your comprehension. Reassigned to Christian.
There appears (or appeared in the original OO version, and I see it in 1.0.1) a dialog saying general error. The crashing is a new behavior (which I haven't seen personaly). If that happens, the OO version in this bug should also be updated.
Following the new instructions, I opened up the attached document, went to the slide "tree", double clicked the button in the center of the "double-click to add an object" box in that slide, added an OpenOffice.org 1.1 Spreadsheet, and clicked ok. It crashed using OOo 1.1Beta2 on XP.
I suspect we have three separate problems being described here. I can confirm the original bug (document crashes when saving) under ooo1.0.3, but it does not crash under 1.1beta2. I think the original bug is fixed. Rainer's new bug, crash when adding an object, is not fixed in 1.1b2. I'll attach a crash log. The log is remarkably similar to the log for issue 15619, which is supposedly fixed in ooo1.1rc, so this bug might already be fixed in the 1.1rc branch. I have no problem when selecting the frame named "Tree", so I can't confirm that part of the report. BTW, Rainer, the crash you found probably should have been entered as a new issue, perhaps with a smaller testcase.

All three bugs are fixed in OOo1.1RC.
I close the issue. Please reopen the issue if you can reproduce the bug in OOo1.1RC.
