Description Unknown 2002-06-04 12:56:29 UTC
This is a fresh new install:

tar zxfv OOo_1.0.0_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz
cd install/
sudo ./install
cd ~
/usr/localOpenOffice.org1.0/setup # do the workstation install
~/OpenOffice.org1.0/soffice

The program displays the splash, then swriter opens briefly and closes, and the
Address Data Source Autopilot comes up. Every possible progression, from Moz
imports to "Cancel" either results in the Autopilot exiting or it crashing with
an "Unrecoverable error". Either way, it happens all over again next time and
software won't load. Output when pressing "Cancel":

+--={12:51:12}=--
| rob@euripides:~$ OpenOffice.org1.0/soffice
SIOCGIFADDR got '00:00:00:00:00:00'
SIOCGIFADDR got '00:00:00:00:00:00'
Aborted

Notes: /dev/dsp is locked by OSS, no ESD running, could this be causing it?
