Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 5403
discuss@openoffice.org archive is not current
Last modified: 2003-12-06 14:52:32 UTC
Hi, The Mailing list archive link is broken: http://www.openoffice.org/mail_list.html Returns the following: Error occurred while accessing content. And has for the last day or so. Also the archiving of some of the mailing lists (discuss@openoffice.org) stopped on May 23rd and has not picked up any messages since then. Perhaps time to shut everything down and restart it? Kevin
hi Reassigning to support for resolution. Also, rasing priority to p2 thanks, Kevin! Support, this is rather urgent. I suspect it may have to do with the staticized pages issue. Can we see if we can de-staticize the pages? thanks louis
The issue with the mailing list link has been adressed and the page now displays properly. Pages were made static to address site performance issues, so at this time we plan to keep them static due to the amount of traffic on the site. I am changing the summary to reflect the remaining issue of the discuss archive. Which other lists have you noted with this problem? Thank you, Kat
The mailing list issue has been entered as pcn9852 for investigation.
Having several outdated mailing list archives (dev@xml is another one) is a P2 for me. See also issue 4895 for interface-announce@ooo.
Sorry, dev@xml works fine.
An engineer has been assigned to this issue and is currently working with operations to resolve it.
A developer continues to be engaged. There is no progress to report yet as to cause of this issue or a fix.
Updating whiteboard with Issue Council flag. There is no progress to report as yet.
The messages for discuss post 5/23 were not delivered for indexing by eyebrowse. Developers will attempt to add these for indexing, and look into why this occured.
The messages were moved and the archives should be up to date now. Please let us know if anything appears to still be absent.
Marked wrong list - reopening.
Accepting again. Work continues on this issue.
Hi, Unless I missed some message about the mailing list archives being down, now NONE of the mailing list archives seem to be updating at all. I checked both allbugs and allcvs as well as users and discuss (the highest traffic ones) and there is 0 activity showing up for today at all even though I have posted things to users. I figured this might be important so I wonder if this should be raised to P1? Thought you might like to know. Thanks, Kevin
Hi Kevin, I just checked and the archives for 06-08 indicate posting by you. I'm updating the PCN issue to reflect the increasingly large scope of this odd behavior. But after a check of the archives, it seems now the issue is one of slowness: messages are populating the archives, just really slowly. -louis
The work of moving the discuss archives continues.
The missing posts have been added to the archive, which should now be up to date. If there are still messages missing, please let us know.
removing from top5
As agreed by Louis I will close these resolved fixed support-owned issues now. If you have trouble with that, please re-open the issue.
