Description gmhandis 2005-08-24 14:33:05 UTC
1. Database was created using Table wizard
2. Form wizard was started to create form
3. all available fields were added to form
4. sub form was selected
5. all available fields were added to sub form
6. no linked fields
7. In step 5. Arrange Controls: Blocks selected for both main form and for
subform. The main form was properly formatted, but the sub form was not
completed. (Bar showed that the process was incomplete)
8. It was possible to go back or continue even with incomplete form. Some
fields were inserted, but were unevenly ordered.
9. Pressing Finish caused OpenOffice with all components to crash.

10. I have had simlar problems with the form wizard on this step, with
different selections. Arrange controls has problems arranging the fields in
columns (labels left and labels top) when a sub field exists. The columns are
not spaced properly and are too crowded, so that the labels are not complete or
overlap other fields.

could you attach a sample database with a sample table, which you used when you
encountered the problem? Cannot reproduce this with a randomly chosen
database/table of my own. Thanks.

I have just tried it again and it crashed again. On my machine it seems
reproducible, if not always. During the step arrange controls I changed the
selection a couple of times for the main form, then for the subform and then
for the main form again. Perhaps this overloaded the process(?)

I will attach the trial database and also the two log files from the two times
when it crashed. Hopefully the database is usable, as it seems to have been
corrupted the first time as it crashed.

can reproduce the problem with the attached database document. Adjusting
priority to P2, and targeting the issue.

fs->os: the crash when pressing the "Finish" button of the wizard (twice!) is in
SwXDrawPage::group. There are a lot of assertions before, which seem to indicate
that the shapes collection is somehow corrupted.

fs->bc: I think a deeper reason for the problem is that the block-layout for the
sub form fails - this seems to leave the Writer document in some inconsistent
state. While Writer should not crash then, could you please investigate why
layouting the sub form fails?
