I installed OpenOffice 1.0.  However, I do not find in any document nor in the
program directory a procedure/script/program.  I strongly believe that any
application or office suite which respect itself should provide a way to
uninstall itself.

Have a look into the destination directory of OOo. There is a link
called setup. Start setup and go on as you like it.
