Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 52376
Fontwork don't work when user is non admin
Last modified: 2005-08-29 19:24:29 UTC
When the user have admin privelage in Windows XP the fontwork works OK. But NOT when the user is a "non" administrator. I open a new dokument in Writer, and in the fontwork klicks on the "fontwork- gallery" button. Then in the new window, selects a fontwork, then press OK, nothing happens. ;( I used the version 1.9.113
I have no problems on WinXP Home sp1 with OOo1.9.118. How do you installed OOo? "Complete" or "Custom"? "For anyone" or "Only for me"? What kind of WinXP do you use? 'Home' or 'Prof.'? Service pack? What kind of non-administrator? 'user with password' or 'guest'?
just for teh records: no problem on FC4 in m118...
I tried this now on my WinXP machine with the described settings (non-Admin user) and a 680m119 build. But the described problem did not occur. However, I can imagine, that this could happen under certain circumstances. To me it sounds, as if the "standard user" does not have access to certain needed things. MRU->WG: can you imagine, why this may be fail to work in the described manner?
Sorry, not reproducible. I have tested this here with a local user with poweruser rights and it works like it should. There may be problems I think when the user who installed the office, got his rights changed after the installation but this is not the way it is ment to be.
I installed 1.9.118 (english) and it worked OK. Before I wrote the issue I looked in the fixes in the history and did not find anything about the fontwork. The old installation was a swedish 1.9.113 installation. I don't find out how to get a swedish installation now ;( ---8<----- Mail from Regina ---- The language packs for the Windows version of 1.9.118 were broken and therefore removed from the server. But the next public snapshot will have a Swedish language pack again ---8<----- Mail from Regina ---- When the next version with correct language packs I should verify and close this issue if the fault does not appear.
Closed.
I installed version 1.9.22 (swedish) and it worked OK, so the fault (if there where any) seams to be solved.
