Description kami911 2005-07-13 18:58:41 UTC
I have got a little UI bug in Lagpack installer. The bug is generally same as
you can see in http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/23721/4.PNG
I tested M116 WXP Pevel build (Eng and hun). Here is we need lots of more space.

You can check http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=44865 for details
and ideas.

This bug is not duplicate of 44865 but they have same roots.

Can you please provide some screenshots of a newer build then 1.9 m81? There has
been a fix in 44865 that might effect your issue to.
Comment 2 kami911 2005-07-14 12:04:42 UTC
The problem is same like in thet issue, but the place of text size is fix, not
automaticly resizeable depending on lenght of text. So the longer text is not
apperar corretly in Language installer.
I will post some screens to...
Comment 3 Olaf Felka 2005-07-14 12:14:09 UTC
I've found a m116_hu version and made a similar screenshot. Looks good ?!

You linked a main installer's picture not a LanPack's installer screen.
Comment 9 kami911 2005-07-14 12:36:09 UTC
Note another issue:
Check the WIZ2.PNG picture. The Wizard's text is semi translated. The first half
is Englist the other part is in Hungarian. Should I fill another issue?
Comment 10 Olaf Felka 2005-07-14 12:52:12 UTC
@ kami: For not tranlated strings please write an issue to the hungarian
translation project.
@ is: Is it possible to have more space for the language packs so that the text
is not truncated?
Comment 11 ingo.schmidt-rosbiegal 2005-07-14 13:00:37 UTC
Yes, it is possible to increase the size for the string and to decrease the
length of the line.
Comment 12 kami911 2005-07-14 13:07:53 UTC
Are teher any way to do it dinamically at runtime?
Comment 13 ingo.schmidt-rosbiegal 2005-07-14 13:18:39 UTC
No, I do not think so. All sizes and lengths of all GUI elements are statically
defined in the msi database. With complicated custom actions it might be
possible to set some variables, which define length of lines or strings. But I
think that is much to complicated. Much simpler would be to remove the text or
the line. But I think it is possible to determine a good value, which will fit
as long as the language pack contains only one language.
Comment 14 kami911 2005-07-14 13:27:32 UTC
The lenght of string depend on name of lanuguage. It is included in that text.
Comment 15 ingo.schmidt-rosbiegal 2005-07-14 13:33:01 UTC
You are right. Therefore we should take a very long language name as reference.
Besides it could be possible to introduce a new property that is shown at this
place, which does not contain the language information.
Comment 16 kami911 2005-07-14 18:49:19 UTC
"@ kami: For not tranlated strings please write an issue to the hungarian
translation project."
You are so lucky. I am member of that team. Andras Timar and me have translated
the upcoming 2.x (1.9.x) series based on community translation of 1.1.4. Can you
give me the string identifiers of untranslated string? I will be looking that
string in our latest sfd files...
Comment 17 kami911 2005-07-14 18:57:32 UTC
I checked to other lanpack (M116/WXP/Pavel)
fr has same issue.
cs has not got this issue.

It's more than interesting...

From our sdf (AFAIK it is updated for 117 - so M117 may solve this problem):

So I hope this problem will resolved in 117.
But : "Installation wizard language pack string truncation" is still problematic.
Comment 19 kami911 2005-07-15 06:39:48 UTC
String translation problem resolved in 117 (WIZ2.PNG). String lenght problem
still remain in 117.
