Try the following:

 * In a calc sheet define a print range on sheet 1
 * Copy (or also paste special) sheet 1 to another sheet
The print ranges seem to be copied too, because you can still see the grey
lines.  But unfortunately the range on the new sheet never is printed.
After closing and reloading the document even the grey lines are gone.

If using a named range it doesn't work either.
What's more, instead of saving the name of the named range,
OO only remembers the numerical range.  :-(
