Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 50342
Buttons lose anchoring with zoom in large spreadsheet
Last modified: 2005-06-29 13:20:53 UTC
Sirs, the buttons in attached spreadsheet buttonalignmentproblem.ods will not anchor correctly when using zoom. 1. Open the spreadsheet 2. Select the first sheet 3. Try different zoomsettings 4. Note that somehow the buttons are anchored to a offset grid and only show correct anchoring in 100%. This does not occur with a newly created simple spreadsheet, attached as buttonalignmentOK.ods. I have seen this behaviour in all OOo versions since 1.1.3.

Please note that anchoring in all buttons is set to Anchor to Cell...
Hi, this isn't a bug. The problem is the that the anchoring of the buttons is somewhat to the left and about 3 cells above the current button position. This causes slighltly different Positions caused by rounding errors. Frank

Hi Frank. You're right, but that is not my point. There clearly is a quirk in the calibration of the object alignment. If I manually pre-select a cell and then cut and paste a button to that cell the anchoring should be forced to that specific cell and not an adjacent cell, and there should be no compensation/compromizing neccesary. Objectalignment should be consistent and uncomplicated. I don't think it's fair to expect a basic user to zoom in to 300% and define the size of a button based on Row height/Column width, crosscheck and determine it's correctly aligned to the Row/Column and then discover that upon zooming back to 100% the button is not even close to the row/column, albeit aligned to the desired cell. I'm re-opening, thanks though.
Hi, I've talked to the developer and it's the same root cause as Issue 8049. So I close this one as double. Frank *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 8049 ***
