Apache OpenOffice (AOO) Bugzilla – Issue 50299
textbox rotation not saved correctly in MS Word DOC file
Last modified: 2017-05-20 11:25:40 UTC
When saving a document which has a textbox inside rotated by 90 degrees to Microsoft Word file, the roration will get lost. Ofter you open saved document with either OO or Word textbox will have 0 degrees of rotation angle. If the same operation is done using OO file format, everything is OK. If file saved in Word is opened in OO, OO displays textbox (rotation) correctly. Please see attached file. Save it in .doc format and you will see the result. Attached is also PDF file showing required result. rgds, Matevz

MRU->FLR: curiously, the exported doc looks good back in Writer. But opening in Word the textbox will contain horizontal text.
Yes, in Word is horizontal but when I open it (DOC file) with Writer I get the same result. Tried on both x86 and PPC Linux platforms.
sorry, should be more precise. also opening DOC in Writer will end up with horizontal text
